Such a great question, and I will let Gene Veno answer this one for me……..
Wow I really can not say how many times I hear property owners state that they were informed that their property was damaged by an Act Of GOD & therefore NOT covered………………………..What a LIE !!!!
If you allow the insurance company to categorize whatever they want to categorize as an Act Of GOD, whenever they want to do it, then shame on you.
Next time ask them, ” what is the definition of an Act Of GOD ? ”
Then ask them, ” what type of policy do I have on my property again ? “
( answer that you are looking for is Basic, Broad or Special )
Last ask them, ” would you mind sending me that in writing ? ”
Based off the vibe that you receive in response to these questions, and jotting down the name of who you are speaking with, give me a call.
I can assist you with the proper terminology to communicate properly the parameters of your coverage. Ultimately, arriving at the conclusion of where your damage stands in relation to being an Act Of GOD.
Most likely it is a COVERED peril, and the insurance company should & WILL pay to repair your damages !!
